Choose the gym that matches how you actually train
Comparison pages usually end with the author's gym winning every category. That is not useful to you and it is not true here. Vinabeast is a good gym run by someone who clearly cares about it, and there are several specific situations where it is the better choice.
Choose Vinabeast if
- You live in Sơn Trà, around Phước Mỹ, An Hải or the northern beach stretch. Proximity beats everything else on this page.
- You train before 8 AM. Vinabeast is reported open from 6 AM. We do not open until 8, and no amount of positioning fixes that for an early riser.
- You want a pool. There is one on site. We have none.
- You want the rooftop experience. Open-air views, murals and music are the whole point of the place, and it is genuinely distinctive. It bills itself as the only rooftop gym in Vietnam.
- You love heavy plate-loaded machines. That is what reviewers consistently single out about their floor.
- You want a hands-on owner. Reviewers repeatedly mention the owner being present, English-speaking and invested.
Choose Evolve if
- You live in Ngũ Hành Sơn, around Khuê Mỹ, An Thượng or southern Mỹ Khê. We are at 14 Hồ Xuân Hương.
- You want an enclosed, conditioned floor. Fully indoor and air-conditioned rather than a rooftop, which matters most in June through August.
- You are committing for months, not weeks. 990,000₫ per month on 12 months, against roughly 2,000,000₫ monthly at Vinabeast, is a large gap over a year.
- You want the newest facility of the two. We opened in 2026, which is the honest reason our equipment and AC are in the condition they are.
- You want structured coaching. Memberships include PT strategy sessions, 1 per month on 3 and 12-month terms.
- You train late. Open until midnight, which suits people whose day does not end at 6 PM.

Location: the factor that actually decides it
Everything else on this page is a rounding error next to this. Vinabeast sits in Phước Mỹ in Sơn Trà, toward the northern end of the beach strip. Evolve is in Khuê Mỹ in Ngũ Hành Sơn, toward the southern end, close to An Thượng and southern Mỹ Khê.
That is roughly 15 to 20 minutes apart on a bike, more in rain or traffic. It does not sound like much until you have done it in the dark after a long day, three times a week, in August. The gym you go to is the gym you can get to. If one of these is ten minutes from your apartment and the other is thirty, stop reading and pick the near one.
Air conditioning: both, but not the same kind
Both gyms clear the bar that most of Da Nang does not. In a city where a majority of gyms run on fans and open shutters, being genuinely air-conditioned already puts these two in a small group along with Mobifit360 and Elite Fitness.
The difference is one of kind, not a score. Evolve is a fully enclosed conditioned floor. Vinabeast is a rooftop gym whose appeal is precisely that it is open to the air and the view. Those are different products, and which one is better depends on what you want from the room. An enclosed space is easier to hold at a constant low temperature. A rooftop gives you something an enclosed box never will.
Equipment, and why we are not claiming a win here
Vinabeast is consistently praised by reviewers for heavy plate-loaded machines that look new, in a clean space. That is a specific, repeated, independent observation and we are not going to argue with it.
On our side, we have not yet published a full equipment inventory, so it would be dishonest for us to declare ourselves the winner on equipment in an article we wrote. What we can say factually is that Evolve opened in 2026 and the floor is built around strength and free weight training with 1-on-1 coaching. Whether that suits you better than a plate-loaded machine floor depends entirely on how you train.
If you are a machine-focused bodybuilder, go and look at Vinabeast's floor. If you are barbell-focused, come and look at ours. Both cost a day pass to find out.
Hours: Vinabeast wins the morning, both win the night
The typical Da Nang gym closes between 8 PM and 9 PM. Both of these stay open to midnight, which already makes them unusual and is a genuine reason to consider either one over a cheaper local gym.
In the mornings, Vinabeast is reported open from 6 AM against our 8 AM. If you train at dawn before work, that is a decisive two hours and it belongs to them. If your training happens after 8 PM, the two are equivalent.
Price: close on one month, not close on twelve
On a single month, there is very little in it: 1,990,000₫ at Evolve against a reported figure of around 2,000,000₫ at Vinabeast. If you are in Da Nang for a few weeks, price should not decide this for you. Pick on location and setting.
Over a longer stay the gap widens considerably. Evolve drops to 1,490,000₫ per month on a 3-month term and 990,000₫ per month on 12 months. We have not found published long-term rates for Vinabeast, so treat that comparison as incomplete rather than settled, and ask them directly.
The dimension nobody can honestly rank: crowds
You will see gym comparisons confidently rank how busy places are. Almost none of that is measured. We do not have reliable data on Vinabeast's peak-hour density and we are not going to invent it.
What is generally true across Da Nang is that the 5 PM to 8 PM window is the busiest everywhere, and that independent gyms of this size fill up faster than large chains simply because there are fewer racks. If crowding is a real concern for you, visit both at 6:30 PM on a weekday. That single visit will tell you more than any comparison table, including ours.

Is Evolve or Vinabeast better in Da Nang?
Neither outright, and for most people the deciding factor is which side of the city you live on. Vinabeast is in Phước Mỹ, Sơn Trà, in the north. Evolve is in Khuê Mỹ, Ngũ Hành Sơn, in the south near Mỹ Khê and An Thượng, roughly 15 to 20 minutes apart. Choose Vinabeast for the rooftop setting, the pool and a 6 AM opening. Choose Evolve for an enclosed air-conditioned floor, newer facilities and lower long-term pricing.
Do Evolve and Vinabeast both have air conditioning?
Yes, and that puts both in a small minority in Da Nang. The difference is in kind: Evolve is a fully enclosed conditioned floor, Vinabeast is a rooftop gym combining conditioned space with open-air views. Test both on a day pass in the late afternoon if consistent cold is your priority.

Evolve is open daily 8 AM to midnight. Vinabeast is reported open 6 AM to midnight. Both close far later than the typical Da Nang gym, which shuts between 8 PM and 9 PM. If you train before 8 AM, Vinabeast is the better of the two.
Does Vinabeast have a pool?
Yes. It sits on the rooftop of Le Cap Hotel and reviewers describe a small pool on site. Evolve does not have a pool, so if swimming matters to you that is a clear point for Vinabeast.
Can I try both before committing?
Yes, and you should. Both sell day passes, so for roughly 300,000₫ total you can train at each once and decide from experience rather than from a comparison table. Go in the late afternoon, when the heat and the crowd are both at their worst.
